Initially, Valve developed Counter Strike as a modification (or mod) of the game titled Half Life, where gamers can play it for free. However, when Valve decided to update the game to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO), gamers were required to buy the game in order to play it.
Although it's not too expensive, many feel this change is quite disappointing. Now that seems to be changing, because Valve has just announced, CS: GO can now be downloaded for free.
Without any requirements, gamers just open Valve's digital game trading platform, Steam, on a PC or laptop and download CS: GO.
Then what is the fate of gamers who have long bought the game? The company claims, players who have purchased the game will be upgraded to Prime Status for free.
It is known, to go up to Prime Status, players must pay it for US $ 15 (which is equivalent to the selling price of the CS: GO game on Steam).
During Steam Summer Sale, Gamers cannot award CS: GO to other gamers. Furthermore, Valve also announced that it would launch the battle royale mode, the Danger Zone. In the battle royale mode, gamers will fight with 18 other CS: GO players to be the last survivors.
Interestingly enough, Valve finally adopted the battle royale mode, considering that the mode is able to make Fortnite and PUBG games very popular nowadays.
CS: GO players demand Valve facilitate illegal gambling in the game. Like other multiplayer games, gamers can play in the Danger Zone alone or in groups of two or three. If playing solo, gamers will be paired into the game along with 16 other people.
Meanwhile if you play with a group, you will be paired with a game with 18 other people. Currently there is only one map (map) available, namely Blacksite. Although not as wide as the map on Fortnite and PUBG, Valve guarantees that the map will be challenging for many players.
Since this battle royale mode is fairly new, there is still plenty of time to see whether CS: GO is able to compete or outperform the popularity of PUBG and Fortnite at this time. How, will you download and play the game in the battle royale mode?
